The Union of Professional Football Scouts and Analysts (UPFSA)

UPFSA has been established as an independent professional representative body for football scouts, recruitment analysts, performance analysts, talent identifiers, opposition analysts, and football intelligence personnel operating throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.

Modern football scouting plays a critical role within player recruitment, talent identification, academy development, opposition preparation, and long-term football strategy. Scouts and analysts are often responsible for identifying players at the earliest stages of their development and providing clubs with the information required to make major recruitment and performance decisions. Despite the importance of these roles, many professionals within scouting and analysis continue to operate without proper representation, professional protection, recognised standards, or long-term career support.

UPFSA has been created to help address these issues by establishing a professional organisation focused specifically on protecting, supporting, educating, and representing scouts and analysts working within football. The Union aims to promote professionalism, integrity, safeguarding, ethical recruitment practices, and higher standards across all areas of football scouting and analysis.

The organisation operates in accordance with relevant football governance principles, safeguarding standards, equality legislation, and professional conduct expectations recognised throughout football. UPFSA also supports the importance of safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals within football environments and is committed to promoting safe and ethical recruitment practices throughout the game.

UPFSA aims to provide members with access to professional support, education, networking opportunities, safeguarding guidance, development pathways, workshops, and future initiatives linked to improving standards and long-term opportunities within football scouting and analysis.

Our long-term vision is to help professionalise the scouting industry further while ensuring scouts and analysts receive the recognition, protection, and support they deserve within modern football.
