INTRODUCTION COURSE

The Introduction Course has been designed to provide individuals with a clear understanding of football scouting, analysis, recruitment structures, safeguarding responsibilities, and professional standards within modern football environments.

For many people entering the profession, football scouting can appear difficult to access without proper guidance or education. Modern scouting involves far more than simply watching matches, requiring professionalism, communication skills, safeguarding awareness, analytical understanding, reporting ability, and knowledge of recruitment systems operating throughout football.

This course aims to introduce members to the foundations of football scouting and analysis while helping individuals understand key areas such as:

  • Player assessment
  • Reporting methods
  • Recruitment structures
  • Professional conduct
  • Safeguarding responsibilities
  • Ethical recruitment
  • Communication standards
  • Football governance principles

UPFSA also believes it is important for individuals entering football environments to understand the responsibilities associated with safeguarding children, maintaining professional boundaries, and operating ethically throughout recruitment and development systems.

The Introduction Course provides a foundation for future learning and professional development while helping individuals enter the profession with stronger understanding, professionalism, and confidence.
